Most guitarists are stuck in a cycle of “Value Overload.” They watch endless tutorials, buy more pedals, and search for the one “secret” scale that will unlock their playing.
They are looking for more information. But information isn’t what’s missing.
After 41 years of playing, I realized that the real driver behind mastering the guitar is almost never visible in the notes. It lives in the psychology underneath them. What makes a guitarist successful isn’t “talent”, it’s uncovering those psychological triggers and “persuasion cues” the brain needs to build a habit.
This is the String Shock Method.
The cornerstone of my method is a principle that governs my everyday life and also my life as a musician:
“Thoughts become words. Words become actions. Actions become habits. Habits become character. Character becomes destiny.”
If your thought is “I’m too old to learn this” or “I’m not talented enough,” your destiny is a guitar gathering dust in a closet. My method starts by attacking the root of that problem. We replace the “I can’t” with a “1% Fix.”
I don’t believe in “grinding” through pain. If a chord is buzzing, it’s not because you are weak; it’s because of a mechanical misalignment.
Mindset is the foundation of strong habits. Whether you’re a noob or a comeback player, you might not always have 8 hours a day to practice.
Gear is a tool, not a trophy. I teach my students to look at gear through the lens of an entrepreneur: What is the return on investment(ROI)?
Check out the String Shock Gear Zone for reviews on the affordable, quality gear you need.
You are a person of character and experience. You have the ability to see the “Underlying Themes” in music.
The String Shock Method respects your time and your intelligence. We don’t just teach you to copy a riff; we teach you to understand the emotional cues that make a riff “ROCK.” We move from “learning a song” to “unleashing your inner rockstar.”
The “Quit Point” is behind you. Your musical roadmap is in front of you. Whether you’re here to master barre chords or finally understand the roadmap of the fretboard, the method is the same:
